Acceptable use policy

Short links are trusted precisely because they usually go somewhere safe. This policy is how we keep that true. It forms part of the terms of service.

Never permitted

• Phishing, credential harvesting, or any page impersonating another organisation.
• Malware, ransomware, exploit kits, or drive-by downloads.
• Child sexual abuse material. Reported to the authorities immediately and without notice.
• Content that incites violence or terrorism.
• Unsolicited bulk messaging of any kind, and links used in it.
• Deceptive redirect chains built to disguise the destination from moderation.
• Anything unlawful where you are, or where your visitors are.

Needs care

• Adult content — permitted where lawful, but the destination must be age-gated and the link must not be presented as something else.
• Gambling, financial promotions and pharmaceuticals — you are responsible for the licences and disclosures your jurisdiction requires.

How we enforce it

Destinations are screened, and every abuse report is read by a person. A link that breaches this policy is disabled and returns a notice page rather than redirecting — the visitor sees that the link was stopped, not a dead end. We tell the account holder what was disabled and why, and there is an appeal address in that message. Repeated or deliberate breaches close the account.
